What is a Cookie Gram?

A cookie gram is in essence a gift made with cookies that is delivered by post or courier.

• Technically any cookie delivered by a courier could be considered a cookie gram.
• Cookie grams come in many sizes of cookie grams, but in general cookie grams are usually large cookies with a message inscribed on the top.
• The quality of the cookie gram varies a lot between companies in Canada. The cheaper cookies grams on the market tend to use cheap ingredients or other short cuts.

Not all cookie grams are the same.

So, why would a company use cheap ingredients or short cuts you might ask to make their cookies grams?

From our experience, when you factor in what it takes to make a delicious tasting cookie gram properly and to package it into a nice looking gift, it is not a cheap gift to make. So when you see cookie grams selling at or below $40 as a delivered gift in Canada, some corners have to be cut to make this possible. Commonly this means using cheaper ingredients in the cookie including cutting back on the quality of the chocolate (and use of imitation vanilla and other cheaper alternatives to each element of the cookie).

Suffice to say, making an awesome cookie gram gift is a time consuming process.

The process of making a giant cookie gram is as follows:

• Making the cookie dough using high quality ingredients including premium organic flour.
• Baking the cookie (big cookies take longer, and care to be baked perfectly)
• Cooling the big cookie takes more time especially if there are chocolate chips on top
• Making the frosting and adding a border to the cookie by hand
• Adding the personalized hand-piped message on the cookie with icing.
• Packing the cookie in a white box, and wrap it with cellophane, a ribbon.
• Create a customized and locally printed inscription card with the message and logo / image you provide.

At Better Cookies.ca, it takes us approximately 1.5 hours of our time to make each cookie gram from start to finish. We find the best size for a round cookie gram is approximately 12 inches in diameter made up of about 18 regular sized cookies. We call our cookie grams iCare Giant Cookies because that is what they are.

We deeply care about how and what our cookies are made from. We always freshly bake our cookies using only high quality and delicious ingredients. Yes, it costs us a bit more to make our cookies but it is worth it! We also add extra chocolate chips on top after we shape each giant cookie. These are just some of the things that make us Better.

We hand deliver the cookie grams to homes, offices / places of work and in some cases to a hospital or retirement residences. As they are fragile, we only deliver them locally by courier. We also support small business couriers to deliver the gifts we make.

For next business day ordering (before 4:30pm on the previous business day), delivery is included FREE for Oakville and Burlington. It costs more to deliver cookie grams to cities a bit father away from us. For instance, to deliver a next-day cookie gram to Hamilton, Dundas, Waterdown, Mississauga, Etobicoke, North York, Brampton and Toronto, we charge only $5 extra. For Stoney Creek and Ancaster, we only charge $7 extra.
